Information Technology and Electronics sector has emerged as one of the key areas of economic enablement and employment generation in the past few decades. Assam Government is initiating proactive measures for creating state-of-the-art infrastructure coupled with investment opportunities in this sector to make the State as one of the prime hubs in the country. Economic and Industrial growth are the prime concern for initiating a new Policy on Information Technology and Electronics.
The new Information Technology and Electronic Policy Assam, 2017 is aimed at creating the right atmosphere for the IT/ITeS/ESDM sector in the State. Promotion of IT/ITeS/Electronics manufacturing industry, promoting transparent e-Governance system for efficient Service Delivery, and bringing in e-Transformation for well being of the society are the main objectives of the Policy.
