The Government of Assam created a separate full fledged Directorate named “Directorate of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (DITEC) on vide notification No. IT 14/2014/Part-I/15 dated 31-12-2016 to guarantee the envisaged outcomes of every programme and policy initiatives of the government of Assam. DITEC is responsible for DITEC is to ensure that every programme of the IT department is properly conceived, implemented, managed and owned up.
This Citizen Charter is prepared with a view to allow the citizens to avail maximum benefit from IT Department.
DITEC aims to facilitate the formulation and implementation of IT Policies, Guidelines, Regulatory frameworks, conceptualize schemes of IT Department and augment efficient delivery of electronic services and thereby promote Information and Communication Technology in the state with the greater objective of realising the dream of providing a common platform of G2C interactions and extensive percolation of information to the grass root level.
The mission of DITEC is to facilitate the use of ICT for E Governance and also, promote IT and ITES industry in the state by:
1. Providing IT support for E-Governance of all the Departments
2. Enhancement of the IT Infrastructure backbone of the state and thereby provide support to all stakeholders in synergy of IT related activities
3. Leveraging ICT to provide and improve electronic services across the State
4. Augmenting the growth of IT and ITeS industry in the State by attracting such industries in the most lucrative way.
